A friend of ours decorates her home for the holidays by putting a big, blooming White Christmas Amaryllis in every room. Each pot is festooned with a glossy bow and the results couldn't be more luxurious. Or easier.
Thick, pure white petals have a handsome glistened finish and are set off by a light green throat. Easy to grow. Just pot up and wait for new, green growth to emerge from the top of the bulb. Then gradually increase watering as the plants send up a bloom stalk, taking care never to let the soil stay soggy.
For gorgeous flowers well into the new year, pot a couple of White Christmas Amaryllis bulbs every two to three weeks. Enjoy!
